Study Aboard

Studying Aboard has always been something I wanted to do and in the Summer of 2018 and the Spring of 2020, I was able to travel aboard through the Chinese Language and Culture Program and the Marriott Tianjin China Program with the Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism. Through these programs, I was able to enhance my Chinese language and also emerge myself into the culture and create friendships that I still have to this day. I experienced what the Hospitality industry is like in China and how their technology has helped them advance in different sectors. I also lived with a host family during my stay in the Summer of 2018 and I was able to learn and experience what daily life is like for the locals. This experience helped me grow as a person and allowed me to get out of my comfort zone and face my fears head-on. I became more independent and developed a better understanding of how everyone is connected despite being from different cultures.
